Some Works |
As much as I am in love with the three dimensional space, I like to think of video as pictorial space
one could inhabit. Following are some works produced for an experimental video documentary class. The films are supposed to reflect certain styles and genres of documentary film making. They dont neccesarily reflect how I would go about making a film.
Not great works but thoughts all the same.

Gurudwara is a short film which aims at understanding the 'fly on the wall' perspective to making films. Gurudwaras are temples for the Sikh community. The idea was to explore if I could walk around in a public space with a camera and not be noticed in the commotion. This would essentially allow me to record the happenings objectively, as they were happening. It worked to an extent.

Place is a short film which aims at understanding the structuralist approach where the camera concentrates on one object without changing its view. The frame remains the same but the happening in it might change. I chose the idea of 'place' and its temporal and spatial value to explore this approach.

Absolute Space did not have a specific guideline. I basically wanted to explore the idea of space as usual and hence shot around my apartment to understand its extensions.
