Khadi Exhibition

 

This project entailed designing an exhibition space for Khadi. Khadi is an indigenous cloth, handwoven and handspun by the artisans of India. Khadi was propagated as a symbol of freedom by Mahatma Gandhi. The idea was to create a space condusive to exhibit this cloth. This project was exhibited in Porbandar, India which is Gandhi's birthplace. This was a national exhibition cum sale of Khadi held by the Khadi Village Industries and Commision and the Govt of India. This was the theme pavilion of a larger exhibition of Indian handicrafts. The exhibition was held on October 2 - 13, 2002.
